Detection of AMPA subunits GluR1 (A), GluR2 (B), GluR3 (C) and GluR4 (D) using TPEA RT-PCR as described in Methods. As in the case of mGluR6 (Figure 1), the detection of each gene remains linear over a large range of PCR reaction cycles. No AMPA receptor mRNAs were detected when reverse transcriptase was omitted (data not shown). Arrowheads indicate 600 base pairs. Primers used for gene-specific PCR and expected product sizes are listed in Table 1.
