Table 1. Parent crystallins of species present in WS-α-crystallin from 13 year old lenses

Identification of parent crystallins of spots present in the 2D gel of α-crystallin fraction isolated from WS protein fraction of lenses from normal 13 year old donors (Figure 3A) by tryptic peptide fingerprinting mass spectrometry. The spot numbers correspond to numbers shown in reference gel (Figure 3D). Molecular weights were determined based on migration of protein markers. In the cleavage column, "C" indicates C-terminus cleavage and "UD" indicates undetermined.
