Figure 4. Detection of superoxide generated by NADH photosensitization
To 50 μM NADH solutions, 0.12-0.48 mg/ml cytochrome C was added with or without 20 μg/ml SOD. Superoxide photosensitized by near-UV irradiation of the mixtures was detected by measuring spectrophotometrically the SOD-inhibited fraction of cytochrome C photoreduction at 550 nm.
