Table 5. Comparison of the range in fiber anterior and posterior segment lengths

Anterior and posterior segment length is defined as the length of a fiber from the equator to either an anterior or posterior suture. As such these lengths include either the anterior or posterior portion of a fiber's middle segment (see Table 4). The figures presented in this table are calculations of fiber lengths from a representative growth shell in an adult lens, as described in Table 2.
