Effect of t-butylhydroperoxide treatment on vascular endothelial growth factor-C (VEGF-C) mRNA (A) and protein (B) expression in confluent non-polarized ARPE-19 cells. Data are mean±SEM from three experiments. Experimental conditions are the same as in Figure 4. At the 5 h time point, mRNA for t-butylhydroperoxide treated cells shows a significant 1.87 fold increase over the control. Asterisk indicates p<0.05 versus control. RAW 264.7 cells were used as a positive control to identify the VEGF-C band in the western blot analysis in Figure 4B.
