Using manual counts, the control retina had, on average, 37503 nuclei/mm2. After 3 day of detachment, the cell count is reduced to an average 33590 nuclei/mm2 (p=0.0001). Using nucleus detector counts, the control retina had, on average, 36164 nuclei/mm2. After 3 days of detachment, the cell count is reduced to an average 33417 nuclei/mm2 (p=0.0000007).
