VEGF protein levels in the posterior segment of eyes in the unlasered mice, mice treated with PBS, and neutropenic mice were determined by ELISA at day 3 and day 7 after laser injury. Each group consisted of four or five mice. The asterisk represents a significant difference (p<0.05) between neutropenic and PBS treatment at day 3 after laser injury.
