RT-PCR analysis of wildtype (+/+) and homozygous mutant c-Maf (-/-) mice for the expression of lens fiber cell genes. The eye regions of E17 mice were isolated and pooled according to genotype. Total RNA was isolated and first strand cDNA was produced using an oligo dT primer. PCR with gene specific primers that flanked intron sequences were utilized to assay for the presence of mRNA transcripts.
