Table 2. Proliferation of Lamina Cribrosa Cells and ONH Astrocytes in Response to Exogenous GDNF Treatment
This table describes cell proliferation results. LC cells and ONH astrocytes were seeded in triplicate into 6 well plates at a density of 10,000 cells/well. Cells were exposed to 50 ng/ml human recombinant GDNF (rh GDNF) in serum-free media, serum-free media alone, or media containing 10% FBS for 14 days. Cells were then trypsinized and counted. Asterisks indicate the level of statistical significance for the comparison to serum free control media using Student's t-test (* indicates p<0.05, ** indicates p<0.01).
