Figure 3. RNA interference significantly diminishes levels of hVEGF in vivo
Ad.CMV.hVEGF was delivered by subretinal injection bilaterally in 5 animals in the presence of either hVEGF5.siRNA or, in contralateral eyes, EGFP1.siRNA as control. Animals were sacrificed 48 h post-injection, and the eyes were removed and processed for VEGF ELISA. Bars represent the means, the error bars represent the standard errors of the mean. Injection of hVEGF5.siRNA results in significant reduction in levels of hVEGF compared to injection of EGFP1.siRNA (p<0.0013).
