Confluent monolayers of wild type (A and C) or TSP1-/- (B and D) REC were wounded and wound closure was monitored after 24 h and photographed using a digital camera. Note the rapid migration of TSP1 and closure of the wound by 24 h, while significant area of the wound remains uncovered in wild type REC. Panel E shows the quantitative assessment of migration assay as described in Methods. These experiments were performed at least twice with two different strains of REC; a representative experiment is shown.
