RT-PCR shows that both the secreted and GPI-linked forms of ceruloplasmin are present in the retina. PT/PCR performed with rat retina RNA and primers specific for secreted ceruloplasmin (lanes 1,2) or GPI-linked ceruloplasmin (lanes 3,4) resulted in DNA fragments detected with ethidium bromide following agarose gel electrophoresis. Lanes 2 and 4 are RT-minus controls.
