Figure 1. SDS-PAGE analysis of TCA-soluble and TCA-precipitated fractions

SDS-PAGE analysis of TCA soluble and TCA precipitated fractions recovered following centrifugation from WS and WI protein fractions of individual normal and cataractous lenses. The proteins from each lens were TCA solubilized under identical conditions, dialyzed at 4 °C against water, freeze dried and suspended in identical volumes. Identical aliquots of from each preparation were used during the analysis. Lane 1 is a protein molecular weight marker. Lanes 2-7 are TCA soluble preparations from; WS proteins from a cataractous lens (lane 2), WS proteins from a normal lens (lane 3), WS proteins from a normal lens (lane 4), WI proteins from a cataractous lens (lane 5), WI proteins from a normal lens (lane 6), and WI proteins from a normal lens (lane 7). Lane 8 is a protein molecular weight marker. Lanes 9-13 are TCA precipitated proteins from; WS proteins from a cataractous lens (lane 9), WS proteins from a normal lens (lane 10), WS proteins from a normal lens (lane 11), WI proteins from a cataractous lens (lane 12), and WI proteins from a normal lens (lane 13).
