ARPE-19 cells were transfected with either a wild type (TOPFLASH) or mutant (FOPFLASH) Lef/Tcf reporter construct, starved, and treated with HGF as described in Methods. Total cell lysates were equalized for protein concentration and assayed for luciferase activity. Bars indicate the mean and standard deviation of three to four independent experiments. Asterisk indicates level of statistical significance for p<0.05.
