In situ hybridization demonstrating PEDF expression in the neural retina and choroid in the developing mouse retina (E 14.5-Adult). PEDF mRNA was found in cells of the ganglion cell layer at P4-adult (arrows; A, C, E, G). Expression can also seen in the inner part of the inner nuclear layer at P7-adult (arrows; C, E, G). Expression is also seen in the choroid at P4-adult (3). No staining was seen in the sense controls (B, D, F, H). Bar represents 50 μm.
