Rats were maintained on regular rodent diet (Control), a 50% food restriction (FR), a 75% protein restriction (PR), and a 50% vitamin restriction (VR) diet. In the Lens weight column, the data are shown as the mean±standard deviation of 16 lenses. In the Protein column, the data are shown as the mean±standard deviation of three observations in duplicate.
