Table 1. Parameters of UV induced light scattering transition curves for bovine crystallins

The columns list the protein name, protein concentration measured before the sample irradiation, threshold energy determined for each sample in the point where light scattering intensity change starts (see Figure 3 and Figure 4), and aggregation rate determined as the slope of the transition curve. Letters in parentheses in column 1 show which apparatus was used for obtaining data for each condition (see Methods section). Direct comparison of threshold and aggregation rates obtained on different apparati were difficult because of differences in modes of sample irradiation.
