Expression of a1F mRNA in the rat retina is confirmed by PCR. A: PCR products of expected size were amplified from rat retina cDNA using oligonucleotide primers designed against the human a1F cDNA sequence (primer sequences shown in Methods). PCR fragments were separated by agarose gel electrophoresis and stained with ethidium bromide. PCR products on different gels are separated by vertical white lines. B: A diagram depicting the rat a1F PCR fragments (represented as lines with arrowheads, numbered as in A) aligned with the a1F cDNA and with the region that they encode on the a1F polypeptide (shown with membrane domains boxed).
