The effect of molecular chaperones on the thermal inactivation of SmaI at 37°C was carried out. Lanes 1 and 2 from the left show the DNA digestion profile of SmaI (unheated and heated) in the absence of chaperones. The chaperones were added to 1 ml of the complete reaction buffer prior to enzyme incubation. The enzyme was incubated at 37 °C for 90 min and the residual activity was determined using 200 ng of plasmid digestion at 25 °C.
