Figure 3. Effect of baicalein and 12(S)HETE on DNA synthesis following stimulation of N/N1003A cells with EGF and insulin.
The N/N1003A cells were deprived of serum for 48 h and then stimulated with EGF and insulin for 18 h. Baicalein (30 µM) and/or 12(S)HETE (0.1 µM-2.0 µM), when present, were added 40 min before the addition of EGF. When used in the absence of EGF and insulin, 12(S)HETE was added at the beginning of the 18 h incubation period. At the end of 18 h culture period, cells were pulse-labeled for 1 h with 0.5 µCi 3H-thymidine. Results are the average of three measurements; error bars represent the SEM.
