Panel (a) shows leupeptin, AEBSF, bestatin, and panel (b) shows E-64, and no inhibitor. Time course was measured for each sample at 0, 1, 4 and 24 hours. In both gels, the last three lanes from left to right correspond to the native mouse ßB2-crystallin (ßB2), the recombinant carboxy-terminal arm truncated ßB2-crystallin (ßB2[[Delta]]Ctr) and the broad range SDS-PAGE molecular weight standards (Bio-Rad), respectively.
