Figure 9. The contents of malondialdehyde (MDA) and glutathione (GSH) in human retinal pigment epithelial cells (ARPE-19) were determined using the corresponding detection kits. The results showed that the intracellular MDA content increased while the GSH content decreased in the PAX6 knockdown group, indicating that ARPE-19 cells suffered a certain degree of oxidative damage. Whereas cassia polysaccharide could protect the cells from oxidative stimulation to a certain extent. The detection results of MDA and GSH were expressed as mean ± standard deviation (SD; n=3; ***p<0.001 versus the control group).
