Identification of tryptic peptides from AMCM containing lumican.A: After concentration (50X), amniotic membrane conditioned medium (AMCM) and AMCM+PK (proteinase K) were resolved in a 4%–20% reducing sodium dodecyl sulfate–polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS–PAGE). A protein between 25 and 35 kDa was selected. B: Mass spectrometry was performed which revealed that the protein was identified as lumican. An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) showed that 10 ng/ml of protein were present in the AMCM.
