Overexpression of the Id3 gene in human stromal corneal fibroblasts (h-CSFs) attenuated transforming growth factor beta (TGFβ)-induced the expression of the ⍺-SMA, fibronectin, collagen I, and collagenIV genes statistically significantly (*p<0.001 and **p<0.01), but there was no change in these genes in the absence of TGFβ1.
