Failure of eyelid closure in embryogenesis causes truncated tarsal muscles, blunted LPS, and abnormal sclera insertion site of the IR muscles. The eye open-at-birth (EOB) mice also develop exposure-driven remodeling changes (bright blue) of the cornea, conjunctiva, and meibomian gland.
