A: Retinal expression of interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) was increased in the streptozotocin (STZ)-treated group compared with the control groups but decreased after injection of resolvin D1 (RvD1). B: The protein expression of IL-18 was statistically significantly upregulated in the retinas of the STZ group and the vehicle group compared with the control group and reduced in the RvD1 group. C: The mRNA expression of IL-1β in the retina was increased in the STZ and vehicle groups compared with the control group while reduced by injection of RvD1 in the RvD1 group. D: The mRNA expression of IL-18 in the retina was markedly increased in the STZ group and the vehicle group compared with the control group.
