Fifty-eight candidate genes were identified by searching the annotated human genes in the GeneCards database using the keywords, “lacrimal,” “auricular,” “dental,” “digital,” and “morphogenesis.” The candidate genes were prioritized based on the strength of the annotation for these terms.
