Figure 3. Influence of NF-κB on apical and basal VEGF-A secretion. In the RPE/choroid, the inhibition of nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) significantly reduces vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-A at 24 h and 48 h both on the apical (A) and basal sides (B). Similar results are obtained in primary RPE cell culture, with a significant reduction of VEGF-A secretion on the apical (C) and basal (D) sides, at 24 h and 48 h). Supernatants were collected for 24 h and were analyzed in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).
