Figure 2. Proinflammatory cytokines increased the expression of miR-146a and miR-146b-5p in human retinal pigment epithelial cells. The cells were treated with interferon (IFN)-γ (100 u/ml), tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α (10 ng/ml), and interleukin (IL)-1β (10 ng/ml) for 16 h and the microRNA (miRNA) expression was analyzed by real-time PCR. The amplification plots generated shows that the expression of both miR-146a and miR-146b-5p is increased when the cells are exposed to inflammatory cytokines. The data from one of four similar experiments are shown here.
