Figure 7. The immunocytochemistry results of the human amniotic fluid (HAF)–treated retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) cultures. By immunofluorescence staining, 19% and 25% of cells in the HAF-treated RPE cultures expressed protein kinase C isomer α (PKCα ; A) and cellular retinoic acid-binding protein I (CRABPI; B), respectively. Arrows refer to cells exhibiting bipolar-like morphology in panel A and both nuclear and cytoplasmic expression of CRABPI in panel B. As control, fetal bovine serum (FBS)-treated RPE cultures revealed that only 5% and 12% of cells expressed PKCα (E) and CRABPI (F), respectively.
