(A) Lens epithelial cells (LECs) or (B) retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cells were treated with either 10 μM U-0126 or 250 μM hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) or both for 20 h. Cells treated with both were pretreated for 10 min with U-0126 before H2O2 was added. Ferritin content of the cells was measured with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Each histogram bar represents the mean±SEM of at least six samples. A: *p=0, significantly different from control and U-0126, **p<0.05, significantly different from all other groups.
