Figure 2. Effect of cadmium on the cell viability of human lens epithelial cells. The human lens epithelial cells cells were exposed to various concentration of cadmium chloride. Twenty four hours after incubation, cell viability was evaluated by the MTT assay. Optical density was measured at 570 nm using a spectrophotometer. Cadmium chloride significantly decreased cell viability in a dose dependent way.
