A: The FK506 Binding Protein 51 (FKBP51) protein significantly protected the 661w neuronal cell culture from staurosporine-induced apoptosis. Cell survival was monitored with a calcein-AM/propidium iodide cell-survival assay. The 661w neuronal cell cultures were stably transfected with either an FKBP51 expression vector or parental empty vector. Cells were treated with or without varying concentrations of staurosporine (10 nM, 100 nM, and 1 µM) for 24 h (scale bar=100 µm).
