Figure 5. epithelial cell adhesion molecule short interfering RNA treatment decreases the cell proliferation of Y79 cells. The Y79 cells
were treated with epithelial cell adhesion molecule epithelial cell adhesion molecule epithelial cell adhesion molecule (Ep-CAM)
short interfering (si)RNA and the cell proliferation was assessed at 24, 48, and 72 h using 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium
bromide (MTT) assay. The viability of Y79 cells was 54% (p<0.01), 55% p<0.01) and 60% (p<0.01) at 24, 48, and 72 h of siRNA
treatment respectively when compared to Y79 cells that were not treated with siRNA. The error bars represents the standard
deviation of triplicate values and the statistical analysis was performed using independent t-test.
