mRNA
expression levels in retinas following ischemia and 5 h (n=6), 12
h (n=15), or 20 h (n=6) of reperfusion (I-R) were assessed by real-time
PCR. The mRNA levels were calculated relative to the housekeeping gene
β-actin (ACTB). The results are shown as mean values±standard
error of the mean. Statistical analysis was performed using a paired
Student ratio t test with Bonferroni correction for multiple
comparisons. Note that the GFAP mRNA expression levels increase
gradually with the duration of reperfusion.
