densitometric analyses demonstrated that human corneal epithelial cells
exposed to amniotic membrane suspensions (0%, 5%, and 30%), and the
positive controls (SP) evidenced increased levels of MMP9 mRNA
(p<0.05 in 5% and 30% AM, and SP). On the other hand, the
expressions of E-cadherin and Fibronectin-1 were reduced in accordance
with the AM concentration. The values displayed in these graphs are
expressed as the means±SD of triplicate determinations in a
representative experiment. PCR experiments were normalized to the
levels of GAPDH expression.
