These data indicated that the treatment delayed the the onset of lens opacification. Panel A was the normal control group, panel B was the diabetic rats untreated group, panel C was the diabetic rats treated with carnosine eye drops (1% only) group, panel D was the diabetic rats treated with aspirin eye drops (0.05% only) group, and panel E was the diabetic rats treated alternately with carnosine (1%) and aspirin (0.05%) eye drops group.
