bleach. B: Spectra at 11 min postbleach showed that an extra
rhodopsin (peak at roughly 515 nm) remained in the unbleached ROS half
while photoproducts (retinal and Meta II, peak at 380 nm) stayed
predominantly in the bleached half. Nonequilibrating rhodopsin fraction
comprised 41% of original concentration difference. Measurements are
made on salamander ROS in Ringer pH 6.3.
