In vivo confocal microscopy scale was obtained for five zones: the superficial epithelium, basal epithelium, and anterior stroma of the cornea, limbus, and conjunctival blood vessels. Cell morphology and nuclear aspects were evaluated, and the number of infiltrating inflammatory cells (lymphocytes, polymorphonuclear cells, or dendritic-like cells) was assessed.
