Retinal expression of NGC, IMPG2, and CD44 mRNAs in Rpe65^−/− mice. mRNA expression from wild-type (diamonds) and Rpe65^−/− retinas (squares) was assessed at 2, 4, 6, 12, and 18 months by oligonucleotide microarray (left panels, n=3) and validated by quantitative PCR (right panels, n=6). A complete description of the oligonucleotide microarray data at 2, 4, and 6 months has been published in [11]. For quantitative PCR, mRNA expression was normalized to RL8 mRNA expression. Samples from 2-month-old wild-type mice were arbitrarily set to 1. Fold inductions +/− SEM are shown. It was found by two-way ANOVA that mRNA expression levels were significantly different between genotypes for all time points (p<0.01).
