proliferation in dexamethasone-exposed human lens epithelial cells.
Quantitative determination of cell proliferation showed an increase in
the number of Ki-67 positive cells in human lens epithelial cells
exposed to 0.1 µM dexamethasone for 24 h whereas higher concentrations
of dexamethasone did not significantly affect cell proliferation. At
least 300 cells in three different fields were counted. The mean and
SEM were calculated from three separate chamber slides (n=3). The
experiment was repeated twice with different cell lines, obtaining
similar results.
