A cell sheet of HCECs was constructed by bluntly detaching the cell sheet from the bottom of a culture insert with a spatula after the application of EDTA. The HCEC cell sheet was attached to a posterior surface of an excised rabbit corneal button and transplanted to the corneal bed in the donor rabbit.
