Figure 7. N-acetyl cysteine has no effect on the vitreous-mediated change in metallothionein expression

Cells were incubated with vitreous for 12 h with or without 2 mM N-acetyl cysteine (NAC). RNA was extracted and metallothionein-1 (MT-1) and metallothionein-2a (MT-2a) mRNA expression was measured by qPCR. Ratios show the change in mRNA expression compared to control (no change=ratio of 1). Asterisk (*) indicates that REST-XL analysis revealed a change that is significantly different from control (p<0.05).
