Figure 2. Effect of hydrogen peroxide on apoptosis of retinal endothelial cells
Apoptosis was measured in the endothelial cells pre-treated with H2O2, and incubated in 5 mM or 20 mM glucose for 96 h by performing ELISA for cytoplasmic histone-associated-DNA-fragments using an ELISA kit. The values are adjusted to the total DNA in each sample, and the numbers obtained from 5 mM glucose are considered 100%. Asterisk (*) refers to p<0.05 for 5 mM glucose, and double asterisk (**) indicates p<0.05 for 20 mM glucose.
