Nyctalopin has an NH₂-terminal signal sequence, NH₂-terminal cysteine cluster, 11 central LRRs (circles), a COOH-terminal cluster, a region before GPI, and a GPI-anchor site. Two small circles are put on LRR5 and LRR6, indicating the two small loops inside the nyctalopia as suggested [18]. The two mutations described here are shown on the top of the protein diagram and those mutations previously reported on the bottom.
