Fluorescence emission of lipofuscin (LF) and melanolipofuscin (MLF) monitored with excitation at 364 nm. Both granules produce similar excitation spectra (data not shown), however, MLF granules have an emission maximum at 554 nm, whereas LF granules have an emission maximum at 578 nm.
