Figure 2. Alignment of amino acid sequences of rat peptides used to generate monoclonal antibodies against Nav1 α-subunit proteins

In each alignment of A: Nav1.1, B: Nav1.2 and C: Nav1.6, the rat peptides were used as consensus sequence. Numbers indicate the amino acid position of the original rat peptide within the corresponding full length protein. The percent amino acid identity is indicated at the end of each alignment. The last two lines show the best alignment of each peptide immunogen with the full length rat Nav1 α-subunit proteins indicated. Asterisks (*) designate identical amino acids, and dashes indicate spaces introduced to optimize alignments. Accession numbers/sources for the sequences used in the alignments are listed in Table 2.
