Figure 4. Detergent solubility of FLAG-tagged wildtype and G165fs γD-crystallin in COS-7 cells

Western blotting of FLAG showed a decrease of Tx solubility for G165fs mutant γD-crystallin. Immunostaining of GAPDH and α-tubulin were used as the housekeeping expression for Tx-soluble and Tx-insoluble fractions, respectively. Quantification by band densitometry indicated the predominant expression of Tx-insoluble mutant γD-crystallin. WT refers to the sample from the cells transfected with wildtype γD-crystallin; G165fs refers to the sample from the cells transfected with homozygote G165fs mutant γD-crystallin; Lane (-) is the sample from cells transfected with vector only.
