Figure 1. Cell division and melanin content of cultured human retinal pigment epithelium cells

Melanin content (ng/cell) and reciprocal of cell numbers were measured after a specific number of cell divisions in a cultured adult human retinal pigment epithelium cell line from first to eighth passages. The results are expressed as the percentage of numbers in the primary cultures (logarithm).
