Representative phase contrast images of 661W cells grown in (A) basal medium and in (B) microglial cell conditioned medium (MGCM) for 24 h. Cells grown in basal media had a flattened and plump appearance, and only few intercellular spaces was seen. In contrast, cells exposed to MGCM were spindle-shaped (arrow) and were separated by large intercellular spaces (arrowhead).
